The first women’s international summit focusing on promoting business partnership and export marketing opportunities in areas such as Tourism and IT in the service sector and Agriculture and Textile in the manufacturing sector was held in Kathmandu on September 11. The inauguration was attended by the Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. The summit was organised as a regional hub for networking and connecting women SMEs to explore significant opportunities in cooperation and joint investments with potential counterparts. There were 80 international participants from 18 countries from the SAARC and ASEAN regions and the People’s Republic of China attending the summit with 12 international speakers. South Asian Women Development Forum signed two important MOUs with ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network and Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India.
