SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry organised a three-day event from March 16-18 at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu titled SAARC Business Leaders Conclave 2018 that brought together the region’s economic and business thinkers, doers and change makers on a common platform to discuss, debate and create solutions and opportunities to take South Asia on the path of shared prosperity through economic integration. The Conclave featured interactive discussions and deliberations between torchbearers and influential leaders of the South Asian economy.
During the Women Empowering South Asia plenary session, focus was on the contribution of women in the South Asian growth story. The session was moderated by Sumnima Udas, CNN International Correspondent and Suraj Vaidya, President SAARC CCI. The panelists for the session were Rohina Saddiqui, Free Women Writer from Afghanistan, Sushila Karki, former Chief Justice of Supreme Court from Nepal, Dr. Mariyam Shakeela, CEO of SIMDI Group from Maldives and Shabana Khan, President of LMKR from Pakistan.
