92 pc paddy plantation completed across country: MoALD

KATHMANDU: The country recorded 92% paddy plantation till August 18, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD).

The MoALD said that 1.48 million hectares of land have been cultivated with paddy plantations across the country.

Joint Spokesperson at the ministry, Tapendra Bahadur Bohara, said Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province each witnessed 99% paddy plantation while Koshi Province 97%, Lumbini Province 95%, Gandaki Province 94%, Bagamti Province 93% and Madhes Province 82%.

In the same period last year, there was 95% paddy plantation, which declined to 92% due to delayed rainfall this year.

Madhes Province, which has fertile land for cultivation, recorded the least paddy plantation this year.
