PM Dahal who arrived in Hangzhou on Saturday for a weeklong visit to China held an open discussion with Chinese President Xi on various issues of bilateral interests, the Prime Minister’s secretariat shared.

"On the occasion, the two leaders agreed on a need of shared collaboration among all regional forces for regional stability, peace and prosperity. The two leaders also discussed matters to further strengthen mutual collaboration by understanding each other's interests and sensitivities," the PM secretariat further noted.

President Xi has imparted a message that China is ready to collaborate and cooperate for Nepal's economic and social development, it is said.

Prime Minister Dahal and Chinese President Xi had an hour-long discussion in one-on-one and group meetings with delegates.

Matters related to the enhancement of mutual respect, support and equal existence based on peaceful co-existence were said to have been discussed in the meeting.

Recalling that China has advanced very close relations with equity and co-existence without discrimination on territorial size, Xi said the relations between the two countries would reach a new height in the coming days.

Prime Minister Dahal talked about the century-old historical relations between Nepal and China and lauded the innovative approach put forth by Xi for the peace and progress of the region in the present circumstances.

Nepal has proved its commitment to one China policy through actions, PM Dahal stressed, clarifying Nepal has adopted an independent and non-aligned foreign policy so the country will not be involved in any military strategic plan.

Prime Minister Dahal also recalled Nepal's earlier move to endorse the concept of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) forwarded by China for it could bring spectacular changes in the infrastructural development of Nepal.

PM Dahal also expressed his belief that China's development would help the development of the Asian region.

Citing previous visits with PM Dahal, President Xi recalled the moment when he first welcomed Dahal in China after the latter became Nepal's Prime Minister earlier.

On the occasion, President Xi said such discussion would further deepen the bilateral relations and trust between the two countries.
