KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat held a meeting with Riccardo Puliti, Regional Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for Asia and the Pacific, in Marrakesh, Morocco, on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the World Bank.
On the occasion, matters relating to increasing private investment and external capital mobilisation for the economic development of Nepal were discussed, according to the Ministry of Finance.
During the meeting, Finance Minister Mahat mentioned that there are plenty of opportunities to invest in information and communication, agro-business, tourism and other sectors in Nepal and said that investment based on local currency should be mobilised effectively.
Appreciating the efforts made by the Government of Nepal to create an investment-friendly environment, IFC Vice President Puliti expressed commitment to provide all possible support for the socio-economic development endeavours of Nepal.
