A A- A+

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari said the first quarterly review of the monetary policy for the current fiscal year is based on various aspects affecting current inflation, the status of balance of payment and growth rate of the bank loans for private sector among others.

In a press conference organised in Kathmandu today to inform about the quarterly review of the policy, Governor Adhikari said the central bank has adopted the policy to facilitate the expansion of loans and facilitation for continuity of business for the old good borrowers.

He said that the central bank will strictly deal with the debtors who have not cleared their loans while others who are genuinely in trouble will be facilitated for the loan restructuring.

Moreover, Governor Adhikari shared that NRB has been requested for disclosure of the internal remittance while the central bank, after studying this, will cap the limit of the transaction amount.

He said NRB is determined to maintain the interest rate corridor as well as to maintain the policy rate considering inflation.
