CIM provides occupational safety and health-related training to industry workers

BIRATNAGAR: Chamber of Industries Morang (CIM) provided a three-day occupational safety and health-related training for industrial workers. 

The training was provided with the technical support of the ENSSURE Project acknowledging the fact that the productivity of industry depends on a safe and healthy workplace and the labour force.

During the training, CIM Acting President Subidh Koirala said that the organisation arranged for the training to make the workplace healthy, safe, and orderly citing that new challenges and risks are added to the workplace with the development of technology. He said the safety and health of workers affects the productivity of industry, quality of goods and industrial development, and opined that risk prevention and mitigation measures should be adopted by all. He emphasized that everyone should pay attention to this aspect as business safety and health are very important aspects in the practice of good production.

According to Trainer and Specialist in Occupational Safety and Health, Dinesh Prasad Sah, managers of industrial establishments were given practical knowledge about policy and legal provisions, management methods and safety plans, safe workplace development, risk identification and management and risk control. He said that safety and health methods will be developed for the industrial establishments that participated in the training programme.

The training covered various topics including minimising human and physical damage, making production processes and methods risk-free, and safe operation of machinery and plants.

As many as 25 persons including managers, administrators and technicians of 20 industrial establishments of Sunsari Morang industrial corridor participated in the training that started on December 7, 2023.
