RUKUM (EAST): A comprehensive study has been initiated again to excavate iron mines in Rukum (East) district.
A feasibility study has been initiated for excavation since last week following the detection of iron ore in Bhume Rural Municipality.
A team comprising geologists of the Department of Mines and Geology Sujan Devkota and Saunak Bhandari started conducting a feasibility study in Jhumlabang area of Bhume-3.
The comprehensive study did not gain momentum in the past due to financial reasons. Bhume-3 Ward Chairperson Hom Prakash Shrestha informed that study has been carried out in several places of the rural municipality about iron mines.
Locals also informed that iron mine excavations are taking place in the areas where iron mines were detected earlier.
