BIRGUNJ, PARSA: The farmers in the districts of Madhes Province will not have to face the short supply of chemical fertiliser this year for the winter crops including wheat farming.

Krishi Samagri Company Province Office Birgunj has said that the required quantity of chemical fertiliser Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP) has been sent to the districts for wheat farming and the urea fertiliser is coming soon.

Head of the Provincial Office, Durga Prasad Pandey said that a total of 16,023 metric tonnes of DAP and 19,299 metric tonnes of urea have been sent to the districts till December 13.

"Farmers need DAP while sowing wheat seeds. We have already supplied the received quantity of DAP in the districts as per the quota," Pandey said.

"The farmers need urea after three weeks of sowing the seeds during the time of irrigation. That too will arrive within a few days. Around 36,000 metric tonnes of urea is in the process of arriving," he added.

With the availability of this volume, there will be no crisis of fertiliser for wheat farming, according to Pandey.

Krishi Samagri Company is responsible for supplying chemical fertilisers in all eight districts of Madhes Province, 10 districts in Bagmati Province and Tanahun, Lamjung, Gorkha, Kaski, Parbat and other districts in Gandaki Province.
