Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolis releases budget of Rs 1.93 billion

SUDURPASCHIM: Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City has unveiled a budget of Rs 1.93 billion for the fiscal year 2023/24. Presenting the budget at the 10th municipal assembly of the sub-metropolis on Sunday, Deputy Mayor Kandakala Kumari Rana said Rs 1.17 billion has been estimated towards recurrent expenditure and Rs 756.3 million towards capital expenditure. The highest 44% of the total budget has been allocated towards social development which is Rs 853.6 million. A total of Rs 354 million will be received as internal income and Rs 469 million from revenue distribution and Rs 928 million from intergovernmental fiscal transfer. The budget has given priority to the management of encroached public property, easy access of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolis people to basic needs including quality education, health and drinking water, commercialisation of agriculture, livestock, industry and tourism sector, sustainable infrastructure development, sanitation and urban development.
