NIC submits annual report to Prime Minister Oli

KATHMANDU: National Information Commission (NIC) submitted its annual report for the fiscal year 2023/24 to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today.

Chief Information Commissioner Mahendra Man Gurung presented the 16th annual report to the Prime Minister at his official residence in Baluwatar, Kathmandu. The document will later be presented to the federal parliament by the Prime Minister.

During the occasion, PM Oli released the 'Collection of Important Orders' issued during the five-year term of the current office bearers at the NIC.

PM Oli emphasised the need for cooperation between the government and the NIC in providing necessary information to concerned parties. He stressed that anarchy should not prevail while working for democracy.

Chief Commissioner Gurung reported that a total of 5,182 appeals were received during his five-year term, of which 95% were resolved. The tenure of Gurung and Information Commissioners Kamala Oli Thapa and Ratna Prasad Mainali ends on 8 December.
