KATHMANDU: MetLife Nepal has launched the Double Protection Plus (DPP) Plan, a first-of-its-kind insurance product in the country that combines enhanced protection with smart savings. The product was unveiled at a special launch event in Kathmandu on April 9, where 100 policies were booked within the first hour, indicating strong customer confidence in MetLife’s offerings.

The DPP Plan provides double coverage, flexible premium payment options, and long-term savings features in a single package. Customers can choose to pay their premiums as a one-time single payment or through a limited payment term of five or 10 years, while enjoying insurance protection until the end of the policy term. The plan is available to individuals aged 18 to 65, with coverage extending up to the age of 75. Its flexibility and comprehensive coverage make it one of the most attractive protection and savings solutions in the market.

The DPP Plan includes double payout benefits: in the event of the policyholder’s death or total and permanent disability due to accident or illness during the policy term, a lump sum of twice the face amount is paid to the beneficiary or insured. In addition, customers receive two financial benefits – the Booster Fund, which provides annual payouts based on the investment performance of MetLife’s segregated fund starting from the first policy anniversary, and the Loyalty Reward Benefit, a guaranteed payout every five years during the insured person’s life until the end of the policy term.

Speaking at the launch, Nirmal Kajee Shrestha, General Manager of MetLife Nepal, stated, “This is a proud moment for all of us at MetLife. With the Double Protection Plus Plan, we are not just launching a product — we are delivering peace of mind to Nepali families. Our goal has always been to help people feel more secure about their future, and this plan does exactly that by offering unmatched protection and meaningful financial benefits.”

With its innovative features and a successful launch, the DPP Plan is set to become Nepal’s leading choice for protection and savings.
