KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said the government is committed to initiating the constitution drafting process on the basis of a broader political consensus.
Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today, he said the government would correct the weaknesses observed in the implementation of the country's main law. He was addressing concerns raised during discussions on the government's policies and programmes for fiscal year 2025/26.
He said efforts would continue to guarantee political stability by maintaining healthy competition among political parties, and encouraging mutual dialogue, collaboration and coexistence.
According to the Prime Minister, the policies and programmes commit to protecting the Constitution and strengthening the federal democratic republic by countering all forms of potential regressive efforts. He expressed hope that the respected parliament would remain intact in pursuing policies and programmes that recognise people's sacrifices and institutionalise the achievements.
