Adani Group reports record financial performance as EBITDA reaches INR 900bn in FY25

AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT: Adani Group has reported strong performance for the financial year 2024–25, with its EBITDA reaching an all-time high of INR 900 billion ($10.5 billion). It also recorded capital expenditure of INR 1.26 trillion ($14.7 billion), while its profit after tax (PAT) rose to INR 40,565 billion.

The conglomerate registered a return on assets of 16.5%, which it described as one of the highest globally in the infrastructure sector. "Prudent capital allocation has led to a steady return on asset (ROA) of 16%, showcasing no compromise on ROA to achieve high growth," it stated.

On Thursday, Adani Portfolio released its 2024–25 results and credit compendium covering all listed entities, outlining key developments across its businesses. "A key highlight of FY25 is the continued industry-beating return on assets of 16.5%, among the highest in any infrastructure business globally, underpinning the strength of the asset base and execution capabilities of the Adani Portfolio in delivering high-quality assets across sub-sectors," said Jugeshinder 'Robbie' Singh, GCFO, Adani Group. "Additionally, we have undertaken various initiatives related to governance and ESG, viz. the tax transparency report released by all portfolio companies, in addition to other initiatives introduced over the past year, resulting in industry-best ESG scores and recognition from international ESG rating agencies," he added.

Key business highlights from 2024–25:

Adani Enterprises:

  • Solar module sales increased by 59% year-on-year to 4,263 MW. Expansion of the TopCon module and cell line for an additional 6 GW capacity has commenced.
  • Passenger movements at Adani Airports rose by 7% year-on-year to 94.4 million, while cargo movements increased by 8% to 1.09 million tonnes.
  • The road business constructed a record 2,410.1 lane-kilometres, with seven of eight under-construction projects now 70% complete.
  • A 500 KTPA (kilo tonnes per annum) copper smelter at Mundra is now operational and will be fully ramped up soon.

Adani Green Energy:  

  • Operational capacity rose by 30% to 14,243 MW, with the addition of 2,710 MW of solar and 599 MW of wind power plants.

Adani Energy Solutions:

  • The transmission order book expanded 3.5× to INR 599.36 billion ($7 billion), up from INR 170 billion ($2 billion) a year ago.
  • Secured seven new transmission projects in 2024–25, including Rajasthan Phase III Part-I (Bhadla–Fatehpur HVDC transmission line), its largest order to date.

Adani Power:

  • Power generation rose to 102 billion units, reflecting a 20% year-on-year increase.
  • Operational capacity reached 17.5 GW, bringing Adani's total utility portfolio to over 30 GW.

Ambuja Ltd:

  • ACL surpassed 100 MTPA capacity, marking an increase of 21 MTPA since the end of 2023–24.
