NCC President Agrawal urges Sri Lankan businesspeople to invest in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) President Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal urged Sri Lankan entrepreneurs and businesspeople to invest in Nepal. During his visit to Sri Lanka, Agrawal called on the local private sector to invest in the hydropower, information technology and tourism sectors.

At the 'Nepal-Sri Lanka Trade and Business Interaction Program' organised by the Embassy of Nepal in Colombo, on Saturday, NCC President Agrawal emphasised that Nepal is an excellent investment destination, offering significant potential and secure returns. In a meeting with officials from the National Chamber of Commerce, Sri Lanka, he stated that an environment ensuring investment returns in Nepal has been established and that the current economic policy framework has boosted enthusiasm among foreign investors.

Agrawal informed Sri Lankan businesspeople about investment opportunities in Nepal and stressed the need for collaboration between the private sectors of both countries for joint investment and trade facilitation with concrete strategic plans. He also stated that bilateral visits should continue for this purpose.

The programme included detailed discussions on trade opportunities between the two countries, investment challenges and policy and legal frameworks. Agrawal reported that the Sri Lankan private sector appears positive about investing in Nepal.
