
KATHMANDU: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Dipak Khadka has instructed employees of the ministry’s subordinate bodies to avoid delays in service delivery.
During a meeting held on Sunday, Minister Khadka emphasised the need to address public grievances regarding slow responses and urged officials to meet citizens’ needs within three days of receiving requests.
Minister Khadka expressed concern over the lack of significant progress within the ministry’s subordinate institutions and stressed that implementing a system of ‘reward and punishment’ could help achieve the desired outcomes.
The Energy Minister further directed the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology to enhance public access to its information system, especially as the monsoon season approaches.
The meeting was attended by State Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Kham Bahadur Garbuja; Energy Secretary Suresh Acharya; Water Resources and Irrigation Secretary Sarita Dawadi; Director General of the Department of Water Resources and Irrigation Sanjeeb Baral; Director General of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology Kamal Ram Joshi; and Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority Hitendra Dev Shakya.
