
KATHMANDU: Vice-Chairman of National Planning Commission (NPC), Prof Dr Shiva Raj Adhikari, on Tuesday met with Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), Dr Biswo Nath Poudel.
The meeting, held at the NPC Office in Singha Durbar, focused on the coordination and interrelationship between the country's fiscal and monetary policies, according to Vice-Chairman Adhikari's secretariat.
Discussions were held on how to harmoniously advance fiscal and monetary policies. The officials also deliberated on strategies to be adopted to achieve the high, sustainable and inclusive economic growth targeted by the 16th periodic plan, while mitigating the impact of the Covid19 pandemic and various natural disasters on the nation's economy, according to NPC Vice-Chairman's secretariat.
During the discussion, NPC Vice-Chairman Adhikari provided information on the reform activities undertaken by the NPC, including fiscal transfers, reprioritisation of projects, effective implementation of the project bank and the medium-term expenditure framework. Similarly, NRB Governor Poudel pledged that the NRB would facilitate the creation of an investment environment by promoting the private sector in infrastructure development.
