Economic Survey projects 4.61 pc growth for current FY

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel presented the Economic Survey for the fiscal year 2024/25 before the House of Representatives today.

The Survey, presented during the session of the Lower House of the Federal Parliament, projects an economic growth rate of 4.61% for the current fiscal year.

According to the Finance Minister, all provinces except Madhesh, Koshi, and Sudurpaschim are expected to achieve economic growth rates above the national average.

The national economy is estimated to reach Rs 6,107 billion in the current fiscal year. Finance Minister Paudel informed the House that the service sector is expected to contribute the highest share to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at 62.01%, followed by agriculture at 25.16% and the industrial sector at 12.83%.

As per data available until the end of Fagun (mid-March 2025), the per capita gross national income has reached $1,517, while the average consumer inflation rate stands at 4.72%, according to the Economic Survey.
