
KATHMANDU: The full meeting of the National Planning Commission (NPC), chaired by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, approved the medium-term expenditure framework for the upcoming three fiscal years.
The meeting, held at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar, approved the annual development programme under the three-year medium-term framework for the fiscal years 2025/26 to 2027/28 in accordance with the Intergovernmental Financial Management Act, 2074.
The details of annual income and expenditure for the fiscal year 2025/26 will be incorporated within the same expenditure structure.
The meeting also decided to make necessary preparations to finalise and submit to the Ministry of Finance the estimates of income and expenditure based on resource estimates and limits set by the National Resource Estimation Committee, starting from the upcoming fiscal year, to further streamline the budget formulation process.
NPC Vice-Chairman Prof Shiv Raj Adhikari stated that work is underway to present all ministries with detailed source estimation and projections for the upcoming three fiscal years, alongside analysis and prioritisation of projects, with an emphasis on development through economic discipline.
