KATHMANDU: In response to the indefinite nationwide public transport strike that began on Monday, inDrive is actively supporting passengers by providing alternative transport options.
inDrive's unique bidding model fundamentally redefines the relationship between passengers and drivers. Unlike traditional ride-hailing platforms where fares are set by an algorithm, the service empowers users by giving them control over fare negotiation, ensuring transparency and fairness.
According to inDrive, passengers initiate the process by entering their desired destination and proposing a fare they are willing to pay. This proposed fare is then sent to nearby drivers who may accept it, negotiate a different price or decline the offer without penalty. With its 'Fair Price' model, inDrive aims to challenge injustice in ride-hailing in Nepal and ensure that passengers obtain easy, affordable rides with transparent pricing.
Tens of thousands of registered drivers across Nepal are active on the platform, ensuring that ride availability remains strong even during the strike.
In addition to maintaining one of the lowest commission rates in the market, inDrive is announcing additional support measures for drivers. The company has introduced 0% commission offer for car drivers during peak hours as part of its ongoing efforts to support driver earnings and promote fair conditions on the platform. It is also continuing to support motorcycle drivers with additional bonuses, communicated through the app. Although not a discount for passengers, this measure directly contributes to better ride availability and stable pricing during this critical period.
