Kathmandu: Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has extended its congratulations and best wishes to Prof. Dr. Biswo Nath Poudel, newly appointed Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).
A CNI delegation, led by President Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, met Governor Poudel on Sunday to formally congratulate him and engage in a discussion on key economic and monetary policy issues.
During the meeting, President Agrawal expressed confidence in the central bank’s leadership under Governor Poudel, noting the need for decisive policy interventions to address persistent economic challenges. He pointed out that a sustained contraction in domestic demand had placed pressure on the economy and called for measures to stimulate growth and boost the mobilisation of investable funds within the banking sector.
Governor Poudel, in response, welcomed the CNI’s policy recommendations and shared that a task force has already been formed to provide strategic recommendations aimed at improving and strengthening the country’s banking system.
The CNI delegation also included Senior Vice President Birendra Raj Pandey, Vice Presidents Hem Raj Dhakal and Amit More, as well as Director General Dr. Ghanshyam Ojha, among others.
