SCT-UPI Cardholders to Receive 10% Discount on Maulakali Cable Car Tickets

Smart Choice Technologies Ltd. (SCT), a Nepal Rastra Bank-licensed payment system operator, has partnered with Maulakali Cable Car to offer a 10% discount for SCT-UPI cardholders.

The offer aims to make travel to the Maulakali Temple in Gaindakot, Nawalpur—located at an altitude of 1,841 feet—more affordable and convenient for pilgrims and tourists.

Visitors can avail of the discount when purchasing cable car tickets using an SCT-UPI card via point-of-sale (POS) machines at the site.

SCT currently issues SCT-UPI cards through 21 banks and financial institutions, as well as over 100 cooperatives across Nepal.

The initiative supports SCT’s broader mission to encourage digital payments and reduce reliance on cash transactions in the country.

Those without an SCT-UPI card can apply through their nearest participating bank or financial institution to take advantage of the offer.
