HEI organises non‐life insurance awareness programme in Sindhupalchok

KATHMANDU: Himalayan Everest Insurance (HEI), Chautara branch, organised a non‐life insurance awareness discussion programme in Kubhinde area of Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality‐4 in Sindhupalchok District on June 19.

About 20 farmers associated with Kubhinde Milk Collection Centre attended the programme, which provided information on the importance, use and benefits of insurance and on the non‐life insurance policies available at the local level.

The objective of the programme was to increase awareness about insurance among rural and farming communities and to facilitate their access to risk management.

During the discussion, Prem Prasad Sapkota, chairperson of Kubhinde Milk Agricultural Cooperative, stated that the insurance sector plays a crucial role in improving farmers’ livelihoods. He also expressed the view that insurance companies should be more active in expanding access to insurance and in simplifying the claims process.

HEI has pledged to continue organising such programmes at other local levels in the coming days.
