MUSTANG: Private carriers have decided to suspend Pokhara–Jomsom flights for two months because of declining passenger numbers on the route during the monsoon season.
Sujan Lalchhan, station in charge for Tara Airlines at Jomsom, said the airline has suspend its service from June 16. Tara Airlines had been operating the route regularly.
He added that flights will resume in the first week of September. “Due to lower passenger numbers and adverse weather conditions, Tara Airlines has suspended flights,” Lalchhan said.
Similarly, Summit Airlines has announced a suspension of its Pokhara–Jomsom service for two months from July 4. Suman Thakali, station in charge for Summit Airlines at Jomsom, said the decision was taken on account of reduced passenger numbers.
