
MADRID: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli urged Spanish businesspeople to invest in Nepal, citing ample opportunities across key sectors.
Speaking as keynote speaker at Nepal–Spain business discussion in Madrid on Wednesday, PM Oli said the Government of Nepal had actively courted investors under its national ambition of ‘Prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepali’.
The event was organised jointly by the Embassy of Nepal in Madrid and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce to strengthen bilateral commercial ties. Oli said the discussion had injected fresh impetus into the partnership, describing Nepal as a peaceful nation with a rich cultural heritage and abundant natural resources.

As chair of the Investment Board Nepal (IBN), he assured delegates that the board had provided security and facilitation throughout the investment process. He identified tourism, agriculture, information technology and infrastructure as sectors of significant potential.
PM Oli added that he regarded Spanish investors not only as financiers but also as development partners. “I'm pleased by your positive response,” he said.

On the same occasion, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) President Chandra Prasad Dhakal highlighted Nepal’s considerable potential in tourism, agriculture and information technology.
