Dry landslip blocks Beni–Jomsom road, halts traffic
MYAGDI: A landslip has blocked the Beni–Jomsom road section linking Mustang District to the national highway, halting all vehicular movement.
The landslip occurred this morning at Ghoptebhir, on the border between Annapurna Rural Municipality in Myagdi District and Thasang Rural Municipality in Mustang District.
Tej Bahadur Kumal, chief of Sapma Police Post in Ghansa, said efforts are underway to clear the debris and restore traffic. The obstruction has severed Mustang District’s direct transport network.
Locals and tourists travelling to or from Mustang have been affected. Those bound for Mustang remain held up at Kavre in Myagdi, while travellers arriving from Mustang are stopped at Ghansa.
