KATHMANDU: LRR Motors has introduced the 2025 Geely EX5 series into Nepal, adding two new electric vehicle models, the EX5 Pro and EX5 Max, to an increasingly crowded market. Manufactured by China’s Geely Holding Group—one of the country’s largest and first privately owned automakers—the cars are set to feature at the NADA Auto Show 2025.
As competition among EV brands intensifies in Nepal, the EX5 Pro and EX5 Max arrive shortly after their international debut. Even before their official launch, Nepali auto enthusiasts had begun researching the models, drawn by their specifications and pricing.
Both models are offered in five colour options—Snow White, Frosty Grey, Moonlight Silver, Carbon Black and Turquoise Green—and start at Rs 5.8 million for the EX5 Pro and Rs 6.8 million for the EX5 Max. LRR Motors has announced special promotional offers for show attendees.
The EX5 series is powered by a 160 kW (215 hp) motor capable of accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. According to CLTC testing, each vehicle achieves a range of 530 km; under WLTP standards, the claimed range is 430 km, suitable for Nepal’s varied terrain.
Both models feature a 60.2 kWh LFP short-blade battery built in-house by Geely Holding Group. This battery has passed eight needle-penetration tests and is billed as the world’s first waterproof, fireproof and bulletproof automotive battery. With an expected lifespan of 3,500 charge cycles—equivalent to around one million kilometres or 50 years—it outlasts competing units and comes with an eight-year or 200,000 km warranty from LRR Motors.
The exterior design emphasises aerodynamics, with LED headlights, taillights and a distinctive front grille. Inside, occupants benefit from a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, voice control, a panoramic sunroof and five-level seat adjustment. Luxury touches include a head-up display, heated, ventilated and massaging seats, plus a premium sound system.
Safety features encompass six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, AEB, blind-spot monitoring and hill-start assist. Geely’s proprietary Aithma Auto OS Smart Cockpit Operating System provides an intelligent dashboard, over-the-air updates and integration with a mobile app for remote vehicle control.
With competitive pricing, long range, advanced technology and upscale interiors, Geely expects the EX5 Pro and EX5 Max to resonate with Nepali buyers. The company asserts that its models are significantly more affordable than rival brands, positioning them for strong market uptake.
