HEI partners with Doko Recyclers for sustainable waste management

KATHMANDU: Himalayan Everest Insurance (HEI) has announced a partnership with Doko Recyclers to implement a waste management programme at its head office, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability and corporate responsibility.

Under the collaboration, all waste generated at HEI’s headquarters will be transferred to Doko Recyclers, an environmental organisation specialising in waste collection, sorting and processing. With approximately 85% of HEI’s waste classified as dry, the initiative will focus on recycling and reusing this material responsibly.

“Environmental protection and sustainability are our priorities. We have taken important steps to prevent waste from ending up in dump sites and instead direct it towards reuse,” said Anju Shrestha, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HEI.

In addition, HEI has pledged to reduce carbon emissions by digitising many office processes to minimise paper usage, aligning with its broader sustainability goals. The programme forms part of the company’s long-term strategy for sustainable growth.

HEI intends to expand the initiative to its branch offices, positioning itself as both an environmentally conscious and exemplary institution.
