KATHMANDU: Laminar Tiles, Nepal’s first and only vitrified tile manufacturer, officially opened its newest exclusive dealer showroom in Thali, Kathmandu, on Friday. The outlet will be operated by Super Suppliers, the company’s appointed authorised dealer under the “Emporio” category.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Bagmati Province’s Minister for Water Supply, Energy and Irrigation, Krishna Kumar Tamang, alongside the company’s directors, Shyam Khetan and Ashutosh Khetan.
In his address, Minister Tamang praised Laminar Tiles’ commitment to domestic manufacturing and its contribution to reducing Nepal’s reliance on imported building materials.
Director Shyam Khetan described the Thali showroom as a significant milestone in the company’s nationwide expansion. “We are steadily moving towards our target of establishing over 100 exclusive showrooms across Nepal,” he said.
Director Ashutosh Khetan highlighted the technical superiority of Laminar’s vitrified tiles. “Our products offer exceptional strength and load-bearing capacity, outperforming conventional ceramic tiles in both breaking strength and durability,” he stated.
All Laminar Vitrified Tiles are produced at the company’s state-of-the-art facility in Gulariya, Bardiya. Covering 12.5 bighas and equipped with advanced European technology, the plant manufactures over 500 designs in five sizes. The fully vitrified tiles are 99.92% waterproof and, owing to high-quality raw materials and precision production, are four times more durable than standard ceramic alternatives.
