
KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) closed slightly higher today, rising 2.62 points or 0.09% to settle at 2,788.36, recovering from a 10.50 point drop in the previous session.
The benchmark index opened at 2,789.54, hit an intraday high of 2,802.14, and dipped to a low of 2,784.15.
Total daily turnover reached NPR 7.46 billion, with 19.26 million shares traded across 320 listed companies in 76,542 transactions.
The overall market capitalisation stood at approximately NPR 4.66 trillion, while the float-adjusted market capitalisation was around NPR 1.58 trillion.
Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) led in terms of turnover, recording trades worth NPR 471.7 million, with its stock closing at NPR 1,590.00.
Nepal Republic Media Limited (NRM) emerged as the top gainer, rising by 9.99% on the day.
On the other hand, NIC Asia Flexi CAP Fund (NICFC) posted the sharpest decline, falling by 8.31%.
Among sector indices, the "Others" Index recorded the strongest growth, up by 1.80%, while the Banking Sub-Index registered the biggest drop, falling 0.55%.
