PM Oli receives briefing on DNF expansion, Nepal Telecom progress

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli received a briefing today on the expansion of the Digital Nepal Framework (DNF) and recent developments at Nepal Telecom.

At the meeting, PM Oli sought progress reports from the Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung; Secretary Radhika Arayal; and the acting Managing Director of Nepal Telecom, Sabina Maskey Pradhan.

He urged officials to intensify initiatives that promote good governance, development and prosperity through information technology.

Attendees were briefed on the newly endorsed artificial intelligence policy and the ministry’s work to roll out DNF 2.0. The revised framework is designed to strengthen the digital ecosystem across infrastructure, agriculture, education, tourism, finance, governance, climate change, disaster management and social security.

A digital transformation council has been proposed to oversee the implementation of DNF 2.0, which will come into force once approved by Cabinet.

The first Digital Nepal Framework, DNF 2076, was launched during Oli’s previous term in office.
