KATHMANDU: The 17th NADA Auto Show opened at Bhrikutimandap, showcasing the latest and most innovative vehicles, from luxury vintage models such as the Toyota MR2, Beetle, Mini Cooper, Mazda and Morris Minor to the most reliable and affordable cars.

Nepal’s first electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL), the Deepal Flying Taxi, has been the highlight of the exhibition organised by the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the show on Tuesday.

This year’s six-day event reflects Nepal’s commitment to automobile sustainability, innovation and the drive of young entrepreneurs towards future-oriented mobility.

The exhibition also spotlights two-wheelers and innovations from emerging entrepreneurs – for example, the Trackon Advanced GPS Tracking System, which protects vehicles through real-time tracking.

In addition, panel discussions and seminars are being held to engage visitors and promote the uptake of electric vehicles (EVs) and new technologies.

The show provides a platform for automotive enthusiasts, industry professionals and buyers, while motivating startups and attracting investors. It also facilitates the adoption of electric vehicles in a competitive market by showcasing products at scale, with readily comparable choices.

With more than 100 stands on display, the event aims to strengthen Nepal’s startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem and connect local innovators with international trends such as flying taxis and robotics.

On the second day, large crowds gathered at stalls A1 and A2 to view Deepal’s full line-up and experience the vehicles first-hand. Parking proved insufficient, with many attendees using nearby alternative areas. Every stall saw active interaction between exhibitors and the public, and delegates participated in panel discussions throughout the show.
