Rajendra Malla honoured with 'Iconic Entrepreneurship Award'

KATHMANDU: Rajendra Malla, the immediate past president of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) and chairman of Prabhu Insurance Co, has been honoured with the ‘Iconic Entrepreneurship Award’ by the Asian Professional Achievement Award team.

The award was conferred in recognition of his contribution to Nepal’s industrial and business sectors. Former prime minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal presented Malla with a certificate at a programme held on Saturday.

Malla, who has been continuously involved in the industry, commerce and insurance sectors for four decades and has played a significant role in strengthening the private sector, previously served as president of the NCC, working closely with the government to advocate for the demands of the private sector.

After receiving the award, Malla said he felt it placed a greater responsibility on him. “This award has given me the encouragement and inspiration to be even more active for the prosperity of Nepal’s industrial and business sectors,” he said.

At present, Malla is serving as president of the Non-Life Insurance Business Association.
