At least 19 dead, over 300 injured in Gen-Z protests across country

KATHMANDU: At least 19 people have died across the country during today’s Gen-Z protests, and 347 have been injured, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

At Civil Hospital, three of the deceased died while undergoing treatment, and 100 injured patients are receiving care. At the National Trauma Centre, where 59 injured people are being treated, eight have died during treatment. Six injured protesters are receiving care at Bir Hospital.

Everest Hospital in New Baneshwor is treating 102 injured demonstrators; three have succumbed to their injuries, and eight have been referred to other hospitals.

Four people are undergoing treatment at the Patan Institute of Health Sciences. Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital is treating 37 injured protesters, two of whom have died under care; the hospital has stated that six of the injured will require surgery. Three injured people are being treated at Norvic International Hospital.

At Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, 18 people are undergoing treatment, and one has died.

Outside the Kathmandu Valley, one person is being treated at Gandaki Medical College, two at Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences, four at Birat Medical College in Biratnagar and seven at Damak Hospital in Jhapa.

Meanwhile, two people have died at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.
