KATHMANDU: Ministry of Health and Population said the death toll from the recent Gen Z demonstrations has reached 34, while 1,368 people have been injured, most of whom have already been discharged after receiving treatment.
Ministry spokesperson Dr Prakash Budhathoki said the fatalities were recorded at hospitals across the country. Among these deaths, six occurred at Civil Service Hospital, eight at the National Trauma Centre, three at Everest Hospital, two at Kathmandu Medical College, one at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, two at Vayodha, three at Frontline, one at B & C, Birtamode, one at Birta City Hospital, two at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences and five at Bheri Hospital.
Of those injured, 48 are at Civil Hospital, 58 at the Trauma Centre, 25 at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), 35 at Kathmandu Medical College and 26 at Birendra Military Hospital. Budhathoki said 949 have already returned home after recovering.
