KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Rameshore Prasad Khanal and Chief Secretary Eaknarayan Aryal inaugurated the interoperability of the international payment system with the Revenue Management Information System (RMIS), Financial Comptroller General Office (FCGO) said on Thursday.
In a press statement, the FCGO said the integration enabled payments via international card networks to be processed directly through RMIS, allowing service seekers abroad and tourists visiting Nepal to make revenue payments that were paperless, faceless and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
It added that the move was intended to make revenue collection faster, more transparent, internationally accessible and more client-friendly, and to support the promotion of the digital economy.
Services designated by the Department of Immigration were made payable with cards linked to international networks, including Mastercard, Visa and Alipay, and the service was made available to tourists entering via Tribhuvan International Airport and other entry points, the FCGO said.
