SINGAPORE: Singapore has been ranked the safest country in the world for the 12th time since 2006, the Global Safety Report released on Thursday by Gallup says.
In 2024, 98% of Singaporeans said they felt safe walking alone at night, one of the highest figures Gallup has recorded globally. The report highlighted Singapore's consistent performance in residents' sense of safety.
The survey showed similar levels of perceived safety between genders, with 98% of men and 97% of women reporting they felt safe in 2024.
The report attributed the results to factors including low crime rates, effective law enforcement and strong public order.
