Energy, Agriculture ministries calls for return of stolen items

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has urged the immediate return of items stolen from its premises during the Gen-Z protests on September 8 and 9.

Among the goods taken during the arson attacks, vandalism and looting were TV sets, desktop computers, laptops, printers, photocopiers, microwaves, hard drives, scanners, cameras, iPads, mobile phones, heaters, fans and other equipment.

The ministry said work is underway to identify those involved in the theft and vandalism through CCTV footage and urged anyone who has taken or received such items to hand them in to the ministry or to the nearest police office. It warned that action will be taken in accordance with prevailing law if they are not returned.

Similarly, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development reported the theft of laptops, CCTV cameras, desktop computers and motorcycle batteries. Work is underway to identify those responsible through CCTV footage, and the ministry has requested that the items be returned to the ministry or to the nearest police office.
