KATHMANDU: One-way traffic resumed on the Prithvi Highway after the Department of Roads (DoR) cleared the landslide debris at Tuinkhola in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality, Chitwan district.

Traffic had been halted as boulders and debris had fallen continuously since Friday.

DoR spokesperson Prabhat Kumar Jha said the Muglin–Narayangadh section, which had been blocked by the landslide, is now open to one-way traffic.

Thousands of passengers had been stranded on that section for more than 40 hours after the highway was blocked.

According to the DoR, the Prithvi Highway, Araniko Highway, Thori–Bhandara–Malekhu, Galchhi–Trishuli–Betrawati–Mailung–Syaphrubesi–Rasuwagadhi, Rani–Biratnagar–Itahari–Dharan–Dhankuta–Hile and Leghuwaghat–Tumlingtar–Khandbari–Num–Kimathanka (Koshi Highway) remain fully blocked, while 168 other roadways have been opened to one-way traffic.
