KABUL: A total of 184 development and infrastructure projects have been implemented and put into operation in eastern Afghanistan's Paktia and Ghazni provinces, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development announced on Wednesday.

Costing nearly 2 million US dollars, the projects were implemented on the outskirts of Ghazni's Jaghato district and Paktia's Zurmat district, according to the ministry.

These initiatives include a range of essential improvements, including water dams, rural road reconstruction, water canals, bridges, culverts, and retaining walls, said the ministry.

The completion of these projects has generated employment opportunities for hundreds of local residents and enhanced living conditions for thousands throughout the districts mentioned above, the ministry detailed.

Looking ahead, the Afghan government plans to initiate additional development, infrastructure, and agricultural projects from the domestic budget, aiming to address persistent economic challenges and foster job creation in the impoverished country.
