KATHMANDU: Kunal Kayal has been appointed as vice president of Nepal‑India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI).

Kayal, a chartered accountant and director at Keyal Group, previously served as treasurer on NICCI’s former executive committee and remains an active member of the current committee. Keyal Group has interests in manufacturing, construction‑materials trading, hydropower and solar energy, real estate, banking and insurance, tourism, healthcare and other services. Kayal also serves as the honorary consul of Jordan to Nepal.

NICCI said Kayal’s appointment reflects the chamber’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation between Nepal and India in trade, investment and industrial growth, and that his expertise will support its work on investment, trade, tourism, energy and hydropower, infrastructure, services, human resources, ICT and technology transfer.

The executive committee also promoted Marshal Rathour to director. Rathour, who has served as deputy director, has been associated with NICCI for more than 24 years and his experience is expected to enhance the chamber’s operational effectiveness.

NICCI extended congratulations to both Kayal and Rathour and wished them success in their new roles.
