KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki said the services provided by the law courts cannot be stopped even for a single day.

In a joint meeting with the board of directors of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and a delegation from the Supreme Court, she said court services should not be suspended.

The Prime Minister’s Secretariat stated the meeting was held to discuss alternative arrangements after the Kathmandu District Court building was damaged during the Gen‑Z demonstrations on September 9.

Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court Bimal Paudel had urged the government to provide the CAAN building in Babarmahal to the Kathmandu District Court as an alternative.

In that context, Prime Minister Karki directed that the CAAN building be made available since court services cannot be halted.

CAAN has agreed to provide its building on a conditional basis for the time being. The Prime Minister instructed CAAN to make the building available through an understanding reached between the authority and the court.
