KATHMANDU: The price of gold is Rs 236,300 per tola today, down for the fourth consecutive day as domestic rates fall alongside a decline in international markets.
On Sunday, gold traded at Rs 241,900 per tola (11.66 grams), down by Rs 11,600 per tola from the previous rate. It fell a further Rs 2,000 per tola on Monday and dropped another Rs 2,900 on Tuesday, bringing the price to Rs 237,000 per tola.
The price of the yellow metal fell by Rs 700 per tola today in comparison with the price on Tuesday, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA).
However, the price of silver rose slightly today compared with the previous day. Silver increased by Rs 45 per tola since Tuesday and is now quoted at Rs 2,965 per tola.
In the international market, gold is trading at $3,960 per ounce.
