KATHMANDU: Nepal has witnessed 4,597 disaster-related incidents in the last six and a half months, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA).
The incidents were recorded since the New Year, 2082. A total of 335 people lost their lives in the disasters.
Spokesperson for NDRRMA, Shanti Mahat, said 41 people had gone missing and 1,264 were injured in landslides and floods during this period.
The authority documented 316 floods, in which 37 people lost their lives and 27 went missing. A further 550 landslides killed 67 people.
Other incidents causing human and physical losses included lightning, snake bites, animal attacks, fires, avalanches, and storms.
