KATHMANDU: Geely Auto Group has achieved a new global milestone as sales of its all-electric SUV, the Geely EX5, have exceeded 210,000 units since its launch, cementing its position as one of the most successful new-energy SUVs in its class.

The EX5 has demonstrated exceptional momentum in its home market, surpassing 100,000 deliveries within seven months and 150,000 units by July 2025. It is now available in 26 countries, including Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, several European nations, and parts of Latin America.

In Nepal, the recently launched EX5 has quickly gained popularity, with strong customer interest in test drives and bookings. The authorised distributor, LRR Motors, has announced plans to expand dealership showrooms nationwide to meet the rising demand.

Internationally, the EX5 has earned top safety and design accolades, becoming the first Geely model to receive five-star ratings from both Euro NCAP and ANCAP in 2025. Built on Geely’s advanced GEA architecture, the SUV features a high-strength body, seven airbags, and advanced driver-assistance systems, setting a new benchmark in safety for midsize electric SUVs.

The EX5 also received the 2025 Red Dot Design Award for its aerodynamic styling, refined interior and intelligent design, reinforcing Geely’s commitment to innovation and quality.

“Surpassing 210,000 global sales within such a short time reflects strong market confidence in the EX5 and Geely’s ability to deliver world-class electric vehicles,” said a Geely Auto spokesperson.

Looking ahead, Geely Auto plans to expand its presence in key markets, including Brazil, Poland, the United Kingdom, Italy and the Hong Kong Region, while accelerating its global new-energy strategy.
