BAGMATI: Bagmati Province government has raised more than Rs 11.59 billion, equivalent to 17.18% of its annual revenue target, in the first four months of the current fiscal year.
The province estimated total revenue of Rs 30.891 billion for fiscal year 2025/26. Of that, around Rs 6.936 billion, or 22.45% of the target, was collected between mid‑August and mid‑November, Public Information Officer at the Internal Affairs and Planning Ministry Suraj Paudel said.
Land and house registration and vehicle tax are the province’s major revenue sources. Under land and house registration, Rs 1.237 billion, or 16.7% of the annual target, was collected during the reporting period. Vehicle tax receipts totalled Rs 2.411 billion, or 28.2% of the target.
Other receipts included Rs 2.495 billion from VAT and Rs 843.6 million from excise duty, the ministry said.
The province also received Rs 3.463 billion, or 23.37% of the estimated amount, from the federal equalisation grant.
Internal revenue sources generated Rs 1.132 billion, or 23.70% of the provincial target, during the reporting period.
