KATHMANDU: Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN Federation) Chitwan Branch concluded its 20th annual general meeting (AGM), marking a milestone for the region’s growing technology sector.

The highlight of the meeting was the presentation of Chitwan ICT Excellence Award 2025 to Chiranjibi Adhikari.

Adhikari, founder treasurer of the Chitwan Branch and current senior vice president of CAN Federation, was recognised for two decades of contributions to the ICT field, particularly for his work in advancing technology and digital skills in Chitwan.

Adhikari has played a leading role in promoting digital transformation, raising cybersecurity awareness and fostering capacity building across the region. His efforts have helped raise Chitwan’s profile as an emerging technology hub.

The AGM held under the chairmanship of President Bishnu Prasad Lamichhane, reviewed key achievements and set out future strategies for ICT development in Chitwan. The event brought together industry professionals, policymakers and local stakeholders to discuss ways to accelerate digital adoption and innovation across the district.

Chiranjibi Subedi, senior vice president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Chitwan Chapter, praised Adhikari’s sustained commitment and specifically acknowledged his role in conceptualising and shaping the Digital Chitwan Framework, which aims to position Chitwan as a modern, tech‑driven city and to promote digital innovation across local sectors.

Organisers said the successful AGM reflects CAN Federation Chitwan’s commitment to building a future‑ready digital ecosystem and supporting Nepal’s broader ICT goals. The meeting underlined growing opportunities for ICT professionals, startups and digital entrepreneurs in the region.
