MALEKHU, DHADING: Nagdhunga–Malekhu road section will be partially closed for a week for upgrading work, authorities have said.

Vehicular movement on Nagdhunga–Muglin road will be suspended for five hours daily, from 10:30am to 3:30pm, between December 10 and 16.

The closure will affect the stretch from Piplamod to Nagdhunga and the Pokharebhir area, and road users have been urged to use alternative routes during the period.

Small and medium-sized vehicles are advised to use the Sitapaila–Bhimdhunga–Ramkot–Dharke road section. Samakhusi–Tokha–Chhahare–Galchhi route, and Jarekhet–Trishuli–Ghatbesi bridge route are also being suggested as alternatives.

Upgrading work on Nagdhunga–Naubise section of Tribhuvan Highway is in its final phase following blacktopping.

Keshav Ojha, the project engineer, said the road section will be partially closed because very heavy equipment and supplies must be mobilised at the same time, which could increase the risk of accidents.
