GHORAHI, DANG: The agricultural produce sale centre at Amrit Tole in Ghorahi Sub‑Metropolitan City‑15 in Dang district has made it easier for farmers to sell their produce. It has also allowed consumers to buy agricultural goods at lower prices.

Local residents said the centre has simplified marketing for growers, who previously had to sell vegetables and fruits on their own. "The vegetable prices are lower, and the produce is fresher at the centre compared with other shops. The centre has benefited both consumers and farmers alike," said Sarita Khadka.

Farmer Amar Chaudhary of Ghorahi‑2 said he had been doing commercial vegetable farming on 10 katha of land and can earn over Rs 35,000 per month from his crops. Cauliflower, cabbage, tomatoes, chillies and other items he produces are now sold at the facility. Similarly, Srijana Chaudhary of Ghorahi‑7 said she was also benefiting from the facility.

To use the centre, each farmer is required to pay Rs 15 every day, and they may set up their own stalls on site.

Chairperson of Ghorahi Sub‑Metropolitan City‑15, Ramesh Kumar Pandey, said that since the sale centre began operating, farmers and consumers have saved time. "Consumers get fresh products, and farmers receive a good return on their investment," he added.
