Kathmandu: The Lumbini Lions clinched the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2 title with a commanding six-wicket victory over Sudurpaschim Royals in the final, capping a disciplined and consistent campaign.
Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel said belief and unity within the team were crucial to their success. Paudel was also a standout performer, finishing as the second-highest run-scorer with 276 runs and taking 10 wickets. His all-round contributions earned him both the Player of the Tournament and Emerging Player of the Tournament awards.
Sudurpaschim Royals, runners-up for the second consecutive season, were left disappointed. Head coach Jagat Tamata admitted their batting let them down after choosing to bat first but failing to post a competitive total.
Lumbini’s championship victory was built on strong leadership, consistent performances and composure under pressure, making them deserving winners of NPL Season 2.
